Merchi now supports WeChat Pay

Merchi checkout now accepts WeChat Pay. Customers can pay an invoice, cart, or storefront order from a WeChat wallet, and card payments stay available on the same checkout.

What shipped

When a company turns on WeChat Pay, the payment form offers it next to cards. A successful WeChat Pay payment is recorded on the invoice the same way as a card payment, including on public invoices and product checkout.

WeChat Pay is offered when the collecting company's Stripe account supports it and the shop's country and invoice currency are eligible. If those conditions are not met, checkout continues with the methods that are.

Who it is for

• Sellers taking orders from customers who prefer to pay in WeChat
• Suppliers collecting payment on supply invoices through the same Stripe account
• Customers who want to confirm a WeChat payment without entering card details

How to try it

1. Open the company in the dashboard and go to Payment Options
2. Confirm Stripe is connected, then enable wallet payments and turn on WeChat Pay
3. Enable WeChat Pay on that Stripe account before offering it at checkout
4. Place a test order and choose WeChat Pay
